Electric vehicles, shared transport taking shape in Latin America

The main trend seen impacting the automobile industry in Latin America over the next few years is the shift to electric vehicles (EV), according to Maurice Brahim who is the managing director of Fernandes Autohandel, a Suriname-based fleet management and vehicle leasing company.
Among the EV models present or coming to Latin America in 2019 are the Nissan Leaf, Chevrolet Bolt, Kia Soul (pictured), Renault Zoe, and BMW i3.

"As for mobility, innovations to look out for is the growing trend toward shared transportation," Brahim told Global Fleet in an interview.
Among them are ride-hailing companies such as Uber, Cabify, and 99 which are already quite established, but also car-sharing companies such as Zazcar and Carrot, and other services like bike-sharing and scooter-sharing.
