Apple questioning self-driving cars

According to a new Bloomberg report, consumer electronics giant Apple has decided to scale back its plans to develop a self-driving car. The company has given its Project Titan business unit until the end of 2017 to establish whether the development of such a car is feasible or not.

The past 2 years, the company saw several leadership changes, layoffs and reassignments within the business unit, reflecting the lack of consensus. The Bloomberg report states that there are two options: either license an autonomous driving system to a carmaker, or continue the project. Analysts believe the former is the most likely one.
