First IWIF board meeting looks back on – and forward to – success

Female professionals are no longer a rarity in the fleet industry. They have achieved much – and have much more to achieve. The same can be said about Inspiring Women in Fleet (IWIF), the Nexus Communication initiative designed to support and celebrate those female fleet professsionals. At its first meeting last month, the IWIF Advisory Board looked back at – and forward to – success.

Barely a year old, IWIF already has an impressive track record. Launched at the Fleet Europe Summit in Dublin in November 2022, the initiative has since hosted three more meetings in 2023: in May at the Global Fleet Summit in Portugal, in September at the Fleet LatAm Conference in Mexico, and in November at the Fleet Europe Days in Lisbon.

875 members

Over those four live events, IWIF has brought together more than 450 participants. Additionally, IWIF’s LinkedIn page has 250 members, the IWIF Club newsletter has more than 650 subscribers, and 18 portraits of inspiring women have been published on Global Fleet and Fleet Europe, Nexus Communication’s two main web platforms.

All in all, the IWIF community is more than 875 members strong. In 2023, the initiative concluded partnerships with 10 sponsors. And the Advisory Board, which remains open for new members, currently counts 10 inspiring women. Those are founders Caroline Thonnon (Nexus Communication) and Annie Pin (Ayvens), as well as Sabrina Eickelkamp (Mercedes), Paula Oliveira (Zoëtis), Raluca Mosu (Animal Diagnostic Co.), Joanne Vickers (Enterprise), Julie Meynard (Arval), Kristin Hodgkinson (Lytx), Laurie Marganne (Nexus Communication), and Anna Proshak (PMI).

Even busier

In terms of live meetings, next year will be even busier than last: IWIF events will take place at four fleet industry events around the world in 2024:

  • The Global Fleet Summit (13-15 May, Cascais – Portugal)
  • The Fleet APAC Summit (13 June, Bangkok – Thailand)
  • The Fleet LatAm Summit (25-26 September, Mexico City – Mexico)
  • The Fleet Europe Days (23-24 October, Milan – Italy)

Meanwhile, will continue to communicate with and about its community via two main channels.

  • On the one hand, there will be monthly newsletters, with the latest news from the IWIF community, including inspiring portraits.
  • On the other, IWIF will generate on-demand content in the form of dedicated newsletters, webinars and polls with exclusive content.

The Advisory Board looked at various ways to further increase IWIF‘s outreach and output, in order to help women in fleet inspire each other to set and achieve high goals. Much was discussed, and much more will be discussed and decided at the next meetings of the Advisory Board, at the end of June and the end of November.

But before that, the IWIF community looks forward to its next meet-up, mid May in Cascais. See you there!
