SIXT streamlines its European organisation

Karen van den Boom (pictured left) is no longer CEO of SIXT Benelux. In fact, she no longer works for the company, and her entire division is now part of SIXT Western Europe, which will be led by Jean-Philippe Doyen (pictured right). 

These changes are part of a major streamlining of SIXT’s European organisation. In response to recent market developments, the mobility service provider wants to internationalise its approach – hence the larger area.

Unified organisation

Jean-Philippe Doyen, a 13-year SIXT veteran who previously was CEO of SIXT’s Southern European division (which comprised France, Italy and Monaco), will lead the unified Western European organisation. 

Following and resulting from this reshuffle, SIXT hopes to further strengthen its position on the Benelux markets, which are now characterised by post-corona recovery, and possible fleet supply issues. 

Due to the reorganisation, Ms Van den Boom and SIXT have decided to part ways on amicable terms. Ms Van den Boom had been Managing Director of SIXT Benelux since 2016. She helped transform the division from a ‘classic’ car rental company into a mobiity provider offering a diverse range of products. 

Ideas laboratory

These include SIXT Share, a car-sharing service, launched in 2020 in the three largest cities of the Netherlands, and the opening of about 10 digital locations, where customers can reserve and open a rental car with their smartphone.
