Markus Deusing new CEO at Alphabet

As of January 1st, Markus Deusing (pictured left) is the new CEO of Alphabet International. He replaces Marco Lessacher (pictured right). Until the end of last year, Mr Deusing was Alphabet’s Chief Commercial Officer.

Mr Deusing started his career at BMW Group in 2005 and has held various management functions in Germany since then. As CCO for Alphabet, he has focused on sustainability and digitisation, and in the last two years navigated Sales through a volatile period.

In his new role, Mr Deusing is Alphabet’s highest representative at European level, and will be responsible for the comprehensive B2B business – both towards SMEs and international corporate customers.

Mr Lessacher has been appointed as the new Vice President for Customer, Brand and Sales for BMW Group Financial Services, and will take on the responsibility for its global sales activities.

The personnel change follows the incremental strategic realignment at BMW Group Financial Services to strengthen the company’s position as a future-oriented leader in the fast-changing leasing and mobility services industry.

Present in 31 markets worldwide, Alphabet is BMW Group’s leasing subsidiary. In March last year, the company reported a total portfolio of around 700,000 vehicles for 2020, slightly less than the previous year.
