UPDATED: Full closing ALD LeasePlan merger postponed

Leasing and business mobility giant ALD announced earlier that the full closing of its merger with LeasePlan could be expected on 28 April, following an Extraordinary General Meeting on the same day where the acquistion would be approved.

In a new statement published on 20th April 2023, ALD announced  that this Extraordinary General Meeting has been rescheduled to 22 May 2023, as the company is awaiting the agreement from the European Commission of Credit Agricole Consumer Finance as the buyer for the 6 subsidiaries in Ireland, Portugal and Norway, plus LeasePlan’s subsidiaries in Luxembourg, Finland and the Czech Republic.

The ALD subsidiaries in Ireland, Portugal and Norway will be sold, and the LeasePlan subsidiaries in Luxembourg, Finland and the Czech Republic will all be sold to Crédit Agricole Consumer Finance and Stellantis. The combined fleet of these six entities represents about 100,000 vehicles, or 3% of the total combined fleet of ALD and LeasePlan, as of 31 December 2022.
