Toyota and Launch Mobility partner for ex-lease rideshare pilot

Toyota Financial Services (TFS) is partnering with Launch Mobility, a developer of shared mobility solutions. The companies will jointly develop a product to make previously leased vehicles available for short-term rentals to rideshare drivers. 

In so doing, they will be able to use an array or Toyota resources, including:
– the Mobility Services Platform (MSPF) developed and operated by Toyota Connected;
– the network of Toyota dealers, and their perspective on sales and maintenance;
– TFS field teams, for market-testing the new solution.

"We are uniquely positioned to meet the needs of drivers who are interested in ridesharing but lack an appropriate vehicle”, says Mike Groff, President and CEO of Toyota Financial Services. “TFS has the off-lease vehicles, Launch Mobility has the technology, and Toyota dealers have the geographic presence and unparalleled vehicle servicing capabilities”. 

TFS and Launch Mobility plan to launch a pilot in selected markets by the end of this year.
