Former Award winner Ferenc Hegedus switches IBM for Kyndryl

Within our global fleet industry, Ferenc Hegedus is known as the Global Category Lead Auto Leasing, Auto Rental and Ground Transportation – a function he executed between 2018 and 2021, and for which he was rewarded with the European Fleet Innovation Manager of the Year Award in 2018.

In March of this year, he was appointed EMEA Geo Sourcing Lead at IBM. Still, that adventure didn't take so long, as since September, he is Global Category Leader - Business Services, Travel and Marcom and Global Enterprise Services CoE FLL at Kyndryl. A new role, a new adventure.

Ferenc, who or what is Kyndryl?

"Kyndryl designs, runs, and manages the technology infrastructure for the world's most influential businesses and organisations, with the industry's most experienced services experts. Its previously announced separation from IBM is expected to occur by the end of this year. From then on, Kyndryl will be an independent, publicly-traded company and the world's leading managed infrastructure provider. A business with 90,000 highly skilled employees across the globe serving 75 companies of the Fortune 100".

What does your role concern?

"I'm globally heading a fully integrated Center of Excellence team, called Enterprise Services CoE, covering Business Services, Travel and Marketing Communications categories. This team has an end-to-end responsibility on sourcing, operations, execution, ongoing supplier relationships and stakeholder management on a global level. In this integrated team, the Global Strategic Sourcing SRMs, Timezone (ex Geo) Sourcing Leaders, and the buyers responsible for each market work side-by-side to excel in the Procurement work, enabling our stakeholders to reach their goals targets."

Why the new career move?

"I truly believe such an opportunity comes once in a lifetime not only to be part of building a new organisation but also leading the change as well. I could build from scratch my Global team in a very dynamic, client-focused environment. As you can see from the press, Kyndryl will become one of the market leaders in its industry segment. So I took a chance to join this team alongside a lot of colleagues from IBM."

Will you still be involved in Fleet?

"Oh yes, my team and I will be responsible for managing the Benefit categories (incl. Auto lease and Mobility) on a global level."
