Global Fleet Advisory Board Latin America meet in Rome

During the 5th Global Fleet Advisory Board Latin America meeting on Monday (May 28) in Rome, double the number of participants showed up since the last face-to-face meeting in Lisbon in November.
A total of 16 of the now 25 members of the Advisory Board participated in the roundtable in Italy, while eight of 11 attended in Portugal. This year’s meeting helped kick off Global Fleet Conference 2018 taking place May 28-30.

It was led by Board President Pascal Serres and Nexus Communication CEO Caroline Thonnon, along with Project Coordinator Céline Gilson, Global Fleet LatAm editor Daniel Bland, and International Key Account Manager Daniel Savigny. Talks revolved around the four communication pillars of print, digital, training, and events.

The meeting was opened by Serres along with a short presentation from all participants. Thonnon then followed by handing out copies of the pre-launch (zero edition) Fleet LatAm magazine, explaining that the first full edition will be rolled out in September, followed by another in December, and then four editions in 2019.

“Our distribution will go to regional [LatAm] fleet managers and to the industry, and also to global fleet managers in Europe or North America”, said Thonnon.

Thereafter, Bland and Gilson explained the Global Fleet and Fleet Latam digital strategy (websites, social networks) and Savigny highlighted readership demographics, and sponsorship opportunities.

Serres followed by highlighting the agenda for the upcoming Global Fleet Conference, explaining topics and Advisory Board Members to be speaking during the event.

After more than 30 minutes of open mic discussions by Board Members on several issues, Thonnon wrapped up the meeting by highlighting upcoming plans for events and training sessions. Among them are plans in Barcelona (November 27-28, 2018), Miami (June, 2019), and others in Latin America.

“With participants from many different countries, we received many points of views during this meeting. What we need to do is understand each other and work on harmonizing our plans. It will take some collaborating, but I feel this is good for communication,” said Serres.
