Bill Schankel is new CEO at NAFA

The North American Fleet Management Association (NAFA) has announced the appointment of Bill Schankel as its new CEO. Mr Schankel (pictured) had been serving as the organisation’s interim CEO since August 2019. He had joined the North American fleet industry’s largest membership organisation in September 2017, as Chief of Staff and Operations.

Prior to joining NAFA, Mr Schankel spent 20 years leading organisations such as the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP) and the America Mosquito Control Association (AMCA). Previously, he has held executive positions at the Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers (SCTE), the New Jersey State Bar Association and the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA).

In spite of his interim position at the helm, Mr Schankel’s appointment was not perfunctory. He was chosen via an extensive process led by JDG Associates, a nationwide executive search firm. “Bill not only exemplifies the qualities we were searching for, but also understood the unique challenges of moving our Association forward,” said Patti Earley, NAFA President.

Our media Smart Mobility Management is organising a series of webinars about the transformation from Fleet to Mobility Management with the support of NAFA. The next webinar session is on Thursday 28 May. For more information, click here.
