These speakers make the Global Fleet Conference 2018 unmissable

Rome's history is glorious and ancient. But when it comes to Global Fleet, the Eternal City also has a fascinating future – and soon! In just over two months, Rome will host the Global Fleet Conference 2018. Here's an overview of some of the themes and speakers that make this an unmissable event.

On 28-30 May, the Global Fleet Conference at the Sheraton in Rome will tackle key issues in Global Fleet management today, and offer a unique opportunity to the industry's leading experts and professionals to listen to and learn from the best minds in the industry, to ask questions and get valuable answers, to meet and mingle with peers and prospects.

Major themes
Preceded by the Advisory Board Meeting for Latin America and the Global Fleet Managers Club (and last but not least, a cocktail reception) on Monday the 28th, the main event will be spread out over two conference days, on Tuesday 29th and Wednesday 30th May.

The first day will revolve around five major themes: Global Outlook, Global Fleet Management, Market Trends, Green Fleets, and Safety. In a first session, Bruno Colmant (Bank Degroof Petercam) will present an overview of the macroeconomic and geopolitical backdrop to Global Fleet management, followed by a Q&A session with the audience.

Identifying opportunities
Juergen Freitag
(Siemens), winner of the very first Global Fleet Manager of the Year Award at the 2017 Fleet Summit in Portugal last November, will then share his insights in setting up a successful Global Fleet team.

Next, Marc Odinius (Dataforce) will be fleshing out the market trends in North America and Europe with facts and figures, followed by a number of case studies demonstrating that success in Global Fleet management is about more than planning – it's also about identifying opportunities as they emerge, and acting on them.

Holistic and Integrated
After lunch, the topic turns to emissions management, with a revealing presentation on the cost impact of WLTP, the new vehicle test procedure: and a debate between OEM representatives on powertrain evolution.

Closing the main event of the first day will be a session on global trends in safety management and insurance, including a case study on Holistic and Integrated Safety Management presented by Adriana Holban (Heineken), winner of the International Fleet Safety Award at the 2017 Fleet Europe Awards.

Challenging correlation
Two themes and two breakout sessions will dominate the second conference day, with Wednesday's first session dedicated to Innovation. Sebastian Pfeifle (Deloitte) will delve into the challenging correlation between tech development and data privacy.

Following a coffee break, Mobility will take centre stage, with a panel discussion among experts and a case study by Alexandra Melville (Accenture), winner of the International Fleet Mobility Award at the 2017 Fleet Europe Awards.

LatAm/APAC
After the networking lunch, two parallel breakout sessions on Latin America and Asia-Pacific will focus on those two regions, which are witnessing the fastest growth in fleet management practices. While promising, these markets remain difficult, and the sessions will centre on fleet professionals' main question: how to make the most of growth in LatAm and/or APAC?

The Global Fleet Conference will be held at the Sheraton Hotel & Conference Center, strategically located in the EUR Business District, between Fiumicino Airport and Rome's historic city centre.
