US Fleet Manager of the Year 2018
Phil Samuelson, fleet and capital asset manager of utility firm USIC, has beaten stiff competition to win the prestigious Edward J. Bobit Professional Fleet Manager of the Year award in the United States.
Samuelson (pictured above, centre) runs a fleet of 9,350 vehicles. USIC provides underground utility damage prevention services and its vehicles cover a combined mileage of 184 million miles per year.
The judging panel praised Samuelson for his use of new technologies, including telematics, as well as his implementation of advanced safety features and programmes, which have delivered cost savings in excess of $1.2 million over the last two years while improving the safety of USIC’s drivers and vehicles.
The award was presented by Automotive Fleet magazine, and sponsored by Wheels Inc. and the Automotove Fleet and Leasing Association.
