Awto, Axion create car sharing alliance in Argentina
Chile-based car sharing company Awto has created an alliance with Axion petrol stations in Argentina to provide per-minute rent a car service at three locations in the city of Buenos Aires.
While the petrol stations will provide more pick-up and drop-off points for the cell phone app-based rental service, Axion will be the official fuel provider for Awto. Clients will also get a 10% discount for those picking up their vehicle at an Axion station.
Awto, which works in partnership with Nissan Motors, is currently offering vehicles at three stations, according to Fleet LatAm advisory board member and co-partner of the Awto brand and technology, Arturo Simone.
The three locations are: 7000 Libertador; Cabildo & Olleros; Monroe & Balbín.
Mr. Simone, who is also a partner of local vehicle renting and fleet managment company RDA Renting, explains that the service will first start in Buenos Aires but upcoming plans include Uruguay, Paraguay, Peru, Colombia, and possibly Brazil.
