No Coronavirus in Mexico "to date", following Uber alert

Despite the ongoing Uber related Wuhan Coronavirus scare in Mexico, there has been no case of the virus being reported in the country (as of Tuesday morning 4 February), according to local media.

As a precautionary measure, Uber has suspended the accounts of 240 users to its mobile-based ride hailing app in Mexico following a ride given to a passenger who was eventually found to have been infected by the virus.

The measure was put into action after a tourist "of Chinese descendency" from Los Angeles took rides from two Uber drivers in Mexico City on 20 January.

The company has temporarily suspended - for two weeks - the accounts of the two drivers as well as 238 passengers they had given rides to, also advising them to get a check up at their local hospital.
