Merchants Fleet, Enel X partner to push US EV industry

To meet the infrastructure needs of the electric vehicle (EV) industry in the United States, local fleet management company Merchants Fleet has partnered up with Enel X of the Enel energy group.

As part of the partnership, Enel X will provide smart EV supply equipment (EVSE), installation and charging infrastructure to Merchants Fleet clients to support the electrification of fleets nationwide.

Through the agreement, Merchants Fleet clients will have access to Enel X’s portfolio of turnkey fleet electrification solutions including JuiceBox smart charging stations and JuiceNet IoT software to manage electric fleets through optimized charging times, and remote access.

Merchants Fleet is set on achieving 50% electrification of its mobility fleet portfolio by 2025, and 50% electrification of its managed fleet portfolio by 2030. Meanwhile, Enel is committed to achieving complete decarbonization by 2050 and to reaching a renewable capacity of some 145 GW by 2030.

The announcement follows an executive order from President Biden which stipulates that at least half of all vehicles sold in the US should be electric by 2030.
