AYRO, Element readies EV delivery fleets in North America

Austin-based electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer AYRO (Nasdaq: AYRO) is planning large scale deployment of its next-generation delivery EVs following the announcement of its collaboration with Element Fleet Management last week.

By combining AYRO’s engineering and production expertise with Element’s comprehensive management and financing services, the new partnership will enable AYRO to disseminate fleets throughout North America. AYRO stock has risen nearly 14% to US$7.42 (at 22 March closing) since last week Wednesday (17 March).

Although initial plans over the next four years entail providing fleets in the United States and Canada, the two could eventually be satisfying demands across global markets in the years to come, AYRO said in a release.

According to the EV manufacturer, Element will help select, finance, and optimize their fleet, maximizing cost savings and driver safety as well as reducing environmental impacts.

The Toronto-based fleet management firm will also help provide appropriate maintenance, accident repair, transport, roadside assistance, and other on-road services to ensure client satisfaction and real-time support.

“Our partnership with Element is intended to support large-volume deployments of our EVs that are purpose-built for the delivery market,” says AYRO CEO Rod Keller (pictured left above)

“Restaurants, food services, and delivery companies with national footprints need more than just EVs - they need financing, telematics, and maintenance and repair services to manage the entire fleet lifecycle and keep operating costs low,” added Mr. Keller.

“We are strategically well-positioned to support our clients and lead our industry through the gradual electrification of automotive fleets over the next decade,” says Element Executive VP of Strategic Relationships Chris Gittens (pictured right above), pointing out both the economic and environmental benefits of fleet vehicle electrification.

AYRO’s full-electric models range from light-duty, short-haul, and last-mile delivery vehicles, including trucks, vans, flatbeds and even three-wheel vehicle configurations.

As of 1Q21, Element has approximately one million vehicles under management across five countries and serves more than 5,500 clients.
