Didi Chuxing readies ride-hail team in Mexico

Chinese ride-hail giant Didi Chuxing has launched a campaign in Mexico to contract a team of drivers which will go head-to-head with Uber and related services.

Just one month after its launch in Mexico, the company has started a “guarantee income promotion” which promises a salary of MXN 12,000 (US$630) per week for drivers completing at least 100 trips in a week regardless of the commute distance.
Other stipulated salaries are MXN 7,500 per week for 80 trips, MXN 4,500 per week for 50 trips, and MXN 1,500 per week for 20 trips. The promotion will only be offered within the first few weeks of operation, the company said, without specifying the number of driver registrations available.

As for passenger fares, "the platform rates of Didi Chuxing are up to 15% cheaper than similar transport apps," regional COO Pablo Mondragón said in an interview with local paper El Fianciero.
