Peugeot launches locally-produced 3008 and 5008 in Vietnam

On 5th December, Peugeot and the Vietnamese group THACO (Truong Haï Auto Corporation) celebrated the commercial launching of the new Peugeot SUVs 3008 and 5008, now locally produced at the THACO factory of Chulai (region of Danang).

With the introduction of these new SUVs, Peugeot and THACO reassert their goal to become one of the major industrial and commercial players in Vietnam, one of the biggest ASEAN car markets and presenting a strong potential for growth in the coming years.

The Peugeots 3008 and 5008 models are already in production in the rest of the world, where 280,000 units have already been sold. Peugeot and THACO aim at penetrating the segment of 5- and 7-seater SUVs, representing 20 % of the Vietnamese car market today.

Both new SUVs complement the Peugeot 208 and 508 and spearhead a more modern range and a move up-market.

The development of Peugeot in Vietnam is part of the internationalisation of the Peugeot brand and of the strategic plan for profitable growth “Push to Pass”. Peugeot is also set to double its local dealer network by 2018.
