Tokyo Motor Show 2017 : Performance @ Subaru

The boxer engine specialist remained true to its origins at the Motor Show : the booth was built around the Viviz Performance Concept, a muscular compact 4 door sports sedan. The design of the Viviz reminds of legendary Subaru models, such as the Impreza : wide front and rear fenders, a large air intake on the hood and 4 massive exhausts.

Although technologically advanced and equipped with all the necessary driver-assist gadgets, Subaru does what it does best : producing cars that excite and that look great. This is also reflected in the other models on the Motor Show booth : the S208, a special limited edition of the WRX STI, only available in blue and white. The S208 has a rally-ready steering gear ratio of 11:1, adjustable damping on the front suspension and is available with an NBR Challenge Pack (limited to 350 units) including carbon-fibre roof and huge carbon-fibre rear spoiler.

Next to these 2 highlights, Subaru also displayed the BRZ STI Sport, the top-of-the-line BRZ and 2 design concepts built around the XV (XV Fun Adventure Concept) and the Impreza (Impreza Future Sport Concept).

Subaru is not a typical fleet brand, but still the 4WD’s such as the Forester, are very popular with the Japanese company car drivers who live in the mountainous north of the country.
