German OEMs in talks for self-driving alliance

According to Germany's Manager Magazin, German OEMs BMW, Daimler and Volkswagen, together with major suppliers including Bosch and Continental, are currently discussing the development of a joint system for autonomous driving. 

The goal is to pool resources and accelerate techological advance to keep up with China (Didi, Alibaba, Tencent, Baidu) and the United States (Waymo, Uber, Lyft), where the race towards robo-taxis is on.
