VW recalls 700,000 Tiguans and Tourans

A manufacturing error can lead to a short circuit in the panoramic sunroof of Volkswagen's Tiguan and Touran models. Worldwide, 700,000 vehicles need to be recalled. All vehicles of the current generation manufactured before 5 July are affected.

In exceptional and extreme cases, short circuits can lead to fire. In most cases, the short circuit will only lead to the interior lighting not working any more. Owners may also notice brown spots around the headliner.
