NAIAS: Cadillac gives preview of EV crossover concept

Prior to this year’s North American International Auto Show in Detroit, Cadillac previews a new global EV crossover concept car that will become reality after the current three-year product rollout of the brand launching a new or redesigned vehicle every six months through 2021.

The President of Cadillac, Steve Carlisle, said that this electric crossover will be “the foundation for a new kind of Cadillac”. He also said that the production model will be sold globally and will be the vanguard of new product range following the current three-year product plan. The name of the electric car as well as all additional (technical) details will follow later, closer to the launch date.

We know that the new EV platform will be a flexible one, allowing GM to quickly respond to new market trends, using different body styles based on the same architecture, and that the platform can be configured to be front-, rear- or all wheel drive..
