Stellantis aims to hit €20 billion annual revenue by 2030 with connected tech

Car manufacturer Stellantis revealed its software strategy, focusing on upgrading the existing connected vehicle capabilities with over-the-air (OTA) and artificial intelligence (AI) to bring innovative features and services to customers.

The software strategy will work hand-in-hand with Stellantis' EV plans, which targets that more than 70 percent of its vehicle sales in Europe and more than 40 percent of vehicle sales in the U.S. will be low emission vehicles by 2030.

The software and electrification strategy will be sourced with more than €30 billion through 2025 and help Stellantis reach more than 70% of the sales in Europe and 40% in the US to be low emission vehicles (LEV).

By 2030, Stellantis expects to have 34 million connected vehicles globally, while revenues will reach €20 billion annual revenue from connected vehicle technology.

Three new tech platforms

The transformation will commence on the four Stellantis vehicle platforms in 2024 to install the new electrical/electronic (E/E) and software architecture, STLA Brain. Three new platforms under STLA Brain will transform Stellentis cars into customizable living spaces, provide comprehensive in-car assistance, and bring autonomous capabilities.

Stellantis will train a team of 1,000 engineers to develop new platforms, which will grow to 4,500 members by 2024.

“Our electrification and software strategies will support the shift to become a sustainable mobility tech company to lead the pack, leveraging the associated business growth with over-the-air features and services, and delivering the best experience to our customers,” said Carlos Tavares, Stellantis CEO.
