Brazil car sales up double digits in Q1
A total of 580,152 new cars were sold in Brazil during the first quarter, up 10% year-over-year.
Chevrolet led sales during the period, increasing 15.8% to 106,413 units (18.3% market share), followed by Volkswagen which was up 7.1% to 82,984 units (14.3% share) and Fiat which rose 23.1% to 78, 832 units (13.6% share).
Wrapping up the top five was Renault rising 29.4% to 51,285 units (8.8% share) and Ford which fell 3.4% to 48,045 units (8.2% share).
The Chevrolet Onix remains Brazil’s best-selling car. A total of 55,513 units were sold from January-March, up by 32.9% from the same period last year.
