BYD, OLADE ink deal to push EVs in Latin America
The Ecuador unit of Chinese automaker BYD and the Latin American Energy Organization (OLADE) have inked an agreement aimed at promoting electric vehicles (EV) throughout Latin America and the Caribbean.
The collaboration, which promotes sustainability, workshops and specialized training in electromobility, is aimed at the public and private sectors, to include the academic world as well as specialized associations and civil society throughout the region.
It also entails visits and technical demonstrations at OLADE's facilities, specifically focused on electromobility, for universities, technology centers, educational institutions, unions and related organizations, local news service Mobility Portal reported.
BYD vehicles will be used in OLADE electromobility studies, providing the energy organization with its full-electric Tang SUVs and charging stations to demonstrate the vehicle's electrical infrastructure and range, emphasizing the advantages of EVs.
