Mexico vehicle exports continue upward trend
Vehicle exports have sustained an upward trend throughout the fist semester in Mexico , according to data from the country's automotive industry association AMIA.
While production in the first semester saw a 0.7% uptick to 1.97mn vehicles, exports rose 10.5% to 1.45mn units. Considering the latest monthly report (June) - which did not include Nissan data - production was up 0.8% to 349,153 units while exports were up 8.1% to 260,966 units.
Much of the increase in exports is due to the uptick in exports to other Latin America countries, especially to Brazil which is experiencing a resurgence in car sales.
