Fiat Toro sees new design, Latam deliveries round the corner

Despite Brazil seeing a 26% drop in vehicle sales last year, Fiat did quite well as it was the best-selling corporate fleet brand in the country and the third best in terms of the overall market.
A total of 53,974 units were sold in the country last year, of which 34,832 were for corporate fleet. The Toro was only outsold by its smaller counterpart, Fiat Strada, which saw 80,041 leaving showrooms in 2020 (67,160 corporate fleet).
Fiat Toro or Ram 1000
Unveiled in late April, the new Mopar influenced model is also known as the Ram 1000 in other Latin American countries. While it goes by the name of Fiat Toro in Brazil and Argentina, it is known as the Ram 1000 in the countries where the Chrysler brand has better positioning. Among the other countries already marketing its Ram 700 sibling (Fiat Strada in Brazil) are Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama and Peru.

Besides the newer version now sporting larger Ram-like grille designs, other additions include ADAS features such as autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning, and automatic headlight switching. Some models will also be furnished with a 10.1-inch Uconnect 5 touchscreen at the center dash.
As the Toro/Ram 1000 shares the same architecture as the Fiat 500x, Jeep Renegade and Jeep Compass, keep in mind that this is a compact pickup. While it has a payload of 650 kg (1,433 lbs), a loading area of 1.5 square meters (12.9 sq ft) and a cargo volume of 820 liters (28.9 cu-ft), it has a maximum towing capacity of 400 kg (882 lbs).
