Brazil's H1 car sales rise on GM, VW, Fiat
Brazil saw a 13.7% increase in light vehicle sales year-over-year from January-June, despite the truck drivers' strike in May negatively impacting the market. .
A total of 1.13mn light vehicles were sold in the first semester of the year, according to automotive research and data group Focus2Move.
Leading the six-month period was Chevrolet (up 8.3% year-over-year) selling 190,404 cars, equivalent to 16.9% of the market. It was followed by Volkswagen (up 33.2%) selling 166,401 units and Fiat (rising by 8.4%) selling 146,381 units.
