Mercedes-Benz USA launches luxury vehicle subscription service

Mercedes-Benz USA and Mercedes-Benz Financial Services USA are launching Mercedes-Benz Collection, a luxury vehicle subscription service for customers wishing to swap vehicles depending on their needs or lifestyle. The service will start in June with a pilot in Nashville, Tennessee and Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

Subscribers can choose between a broad range of vehicle types, including SUVs, saloon cars, coupes, convertibles, roadsters and station wagons. A number of Mercedes AMG models will also be part of the fleet.

The Mercedes-Benz Collection programme relies heavily on a smartphone app that users can access to exchange vehicles, to communicate with the concierge services and for other actions.

Pricing

The monthly subscription fee, depending on the chosen tier, will include insurance, roadside assistance and maintenance. Mileage will be unlimited.

Prices are yet to be announced. Similar subscription services from competitors such as BMW, Porsche and Cadillac range from $1,800 to more than $3,000 per month. Audi on Demand has per hour or daily rates.

Mercedes-Benz will publish additional details in the next few weeks.
