Daimler Truck to kick off distribution of new RIZON e-trucks in US

In the coming months (as early as October 2023), the Daimler Truck group will start distributing a line of electric trucks in the US market under the new brand name RIZON. 

Focused on delivering zero-emission trucks and mobility solutions with a versatile mix of battery-electric applications and configurations in class 4-5 (medium-duty), the initial production selection of RIZON trucks will target businesses involved in urban retail logistics, last-mile deliveries, and municipal work.

Starting in Q4 2023, the vehicles will be made available in the US through an exclusive distribution agreement with Velocity, meaning that RIZON will be providing a comprehensive sales and service network for their products in conjunction with dealers which are to be approved by the vehicle distributor. 

To protect drivers and pedestrians, RIZON trucks incorporate advanced passive and active safety systems, including technology such as Active Brake Assist and Active Side Guard Assist. The vehicles operate with two types of charging systems, Level 2 AC Charging (J1772) and DC Fast Charging CCS1 compliant.
