Hertz and SpotHero partner on mobile parking tool

Hertz is partnering with SpotHero to provide customers with a mobile parking reservation tool that will help them find, book and pay for off-street parking in more than 50 cities across North America. Customers will be able to access the feature, powered by SpotHero's HeroConnect parking mobility platform, directly in Hertz's mobile app.

The collaboration between the rental company and the connected car parking startup is a first of its kind in the North America car rental industry – showing that Hertz is eager to reposition itself as a 'transportation solution provider'.

Which is also why it is already providing older cars in its fleet to drivers working for Uber and Lyft. Hertz is also opening up new locations catering specifically to rideshare drivers and has partnered with car repair shop Pep Boys to inspect, certify and repair rideshare vehicles.

SpotHero previously partnered with travel management company direct travel.
