PSA introduces new EV platform

In preparation for its global EV offensive, Groupe PSA has introduced a new Electric Vehicle Modular Platform (eVMP). Between now and 2025, PSA will move from two multi-energy platforms to two 100% electrified platforms.

The eVMP platform introduced today will serve as the basis for a wide range of EVs in the C and D segments, from sedans to SUVs, which PSA will launch in various regions of the world from 2023.

eVMP represents the very best of PSA's engineering know-how:

  • It has 60 to 100 kWh of embedded energy and exploits the entire sub-floor for the battery
  • With 50 kWh per meter within the wheelbase, it is the benchmark on the EV market, offering an all-electric range of 400-650 km (WLTP cycle), depending on the body.
  • To offer high performance anywhere in the world, hybrid versions may be offered on certain markets.

“This eVMP platform again demonstrates PSA's ability to innovate (while maintaining) the frugality that has enabled a significant reduction in R&D and industrial investments,” said Nicolas Morel, Groupe PSA's R&D Director.
