Mazda surprises with CX-5 diesel launch in North America
Mazda announced at the 2019 New York International Auto Show the arrival of a diesel-powered Mazda CX-5 featuring the Skyactiv-D 2.2-liter.
The Japanese carmaker says the Skyactiv-D 2.2-litre engine addresses unique needs of customers in North America who are higher-mileage drivers and seek rugged power through low-end torque to carry heavy loads.
Mazda says it has worked closely with all proper federal and state agencies to ensure that the Mazda Skyactiv-D 2.2-litre engine meets the region’s strict emission standards.
