Renault debuts solar-powered EV parking facility in Colombia

Renault and Colombian automobile assembler Sofasa has jointly built a solar-powered parking facility for electric vehicles in the Andean country.

Located in Antioquia department's town of Envigado, it is considered the first of its kind for Renault in the Americas.

The parking lot is equipped with 48 solar panels which put out a maximum power of 12.4kW (260 watts apiece).

With a capacity to generate 48.7kW/d of energy, the facility is able to fully recharge two electric vehicles every 24 hours.
