eDriving releases privacy-sensitive Mentor Insight for drivers

Digital risk management solutions provider eDriver, owned by Solera, has released the "non-telematics" version of the Mentor Driver application, called Mentor Insight, to help optimise driver behaviour without intervening privacy.

The application offers much of the same tools as Mentor Insight yet excludes telematics for companies which are not yet ready to address privacy concerns. Mentor Insight can also enrich the driver safety solutions of companies by adding extra features to existing telematics solutions.

Mentor Insights aims to improve driver behaviour, attitude and defensive driver knowledge by providing a broad view of driver risk:

  • Driver risk scoring: The DriverIndex Score, combining collision, incident and licence check data, and the RoadRisk risk assessment results enable easier benchmarking and identification of risky driver behaviour, requiring training and coaching.
  • eLearning: Over 300 interactive eLearning modules facilitate interaction with drivers and promote safer driver behaviour.
  • Manager Coaching toolkit: Coaching at-risk drivers through templates for monthly meetings, annual reviews or after incidents.
  • Gamification: Drivers are split into groups in a friendly competition where they see each other's progress and scores while being enabled to chat.

Mentor Insight functions in a data-secure environment and protects driver privacy. Another feature the app shares with Mentor Driver is the Personal SOS function with  Emergency Response Services powered by Bosch and Sfara. The function is available in more than 50 countries, enabling drivers to call for assistance regarding safety and health concerns.

eDriving is utilised by 1.2 million drivers in 125 countries. Expanding the Mentor family will further the goal of providing safety to more drivers.
