Phillips 66 and FreeWire to develop an EV charging program in the US

Phillips 66 and FreeWire announced a partnership to develop an electric vehicle (EV) charging program in the US

The collaboration will merge the lower-carbon goal of Phillip 66 and the ultrafast charging technology of FreeWire. The partnership will seek solutions to adopt FreeWire's technology into Phillip 66's fueling stations and the US.

Phillips 66 operates 7,000 stations in the US and plans to expand its electric charging points using Phillips 66, 76 and Conoco brands. By working with FreeWire, Phillips 66 aims to reduce infrastructure investment.

FreeWire offers its battery-integrated charger as a shovel-ready solution for the new entrants to the EV charging space.

The FreeWire Boost Charger delivers up to 200kW with a 160 kWh battery. The company claims its technology reduces installation costs by up to 20% while operating costs by 70%.
