Global Fleet Manager of the Year star speaker at Global Fleet Conference

You can learn from the rest, or you can learn from the best. If you’re interested in the latter, come to the Global Fleet Managers Club (GFMC), on 2 May at the Global Fleet Conference 2022 in Lisbon. Star speaker at the exclusive event will be Jan-Hendrik Rauhut of Bayer (pictured), winner of the Global Fleet Manager of the Year award at last November’s Fleet Europe Summit.

Inaugurated in 2018 in Rome, the GFMC is a members-only forum where international fleet managers discuss key topics of their trade. Its success is based on its key feature, which is unique in the global fleet and mobility ecosystem: the GFMC is all about best-practice sharing by and for global and international fleet managers.

150 members

The GFMC already has more than 150 members, managing a total fleet of about 1.5 million vehicles (members enjoy a range of exclusive benefits; new members welcome).

GFMC meetings can be in-person or virtual and occur either independently or in the margin of larger events, as is the case with the 2022 edition of the Global Fleet Conference (2-4 May, Lisbon). The Conference will feature the second of the GFMC’s six meetings this year – the last one will be concurrent with the Fleet Europe Summit in November.

On 2 May, GFMC members will gather in Portugal to discuss global fleet trends and enhance the GFMC itself, but the pièce de resistance of the meeting will be a presentation on Global Fleet Management Best Practices by Jan-Hendrik Rauhut.

Achieving sustainability

Mr. Rauhut is the Head of Mobility at Bayer. Last November in Brussels, he was elected Global Fleet Manager of the Year at the Fleet Europe Awards, the closing event of the annual Fleet Europe Summit.

The Fleet Europe Awards jury was impressed with the procurement strategy with end-to-end global accountability Mr Rauhut and his team established in 2020 and a certain strategy focusing on standardisation, process and cost efficiency. Through a shift in responsibilities, Mr Rauhut achieved sustainability with his approach, resulting in a significant reduction in internal resources.

Mr Rauhut manages a fleet of 27,000 vehicles worldwide, of which 12,000 in Europe. His presentation at the GFMC will be the first time that he shares his global strategy with an audience. Participants to the event will be able to put their questions to him after the presentation. The day after, on 3 May, Jan-Hendrik Rauhut will also share his vision on Sustainability and Global Fleet Management in the plenary conference sessions.

GFMC membership is reserved for corporate fleet and mobility customers. There will be no suppliers present at the meeting. For more information on the event, click here. To book your ticket for the Global Fleet Conference, click here. To join the GFMC and join the meeting on 2 May, click here.
