LoJack, Hertz team up in Mexico

The Mexico unit of stolen vehicle recovery and telematics company LoJack has started a new business relationship with local car rental agency AVASA (Alquiladora de Vehilculos Automotores SA).

"The first stage of our partnership involves furnishing 16,000 vehicles," LoJack General Manager David Roman told Fleet LatAm.

Avasa is the franchise operator of Hertz in Mexico, as well as Dollar, Thirfty, Firefly and Carshop. Besides stolen vehicle recovery, LoJack - a brand of California-based telematics solutions firm CalAmp (Nasdaq: CAMP) - provides services such as instant cash alerts, speed alerts, trip history, arrival notifications, and more.
