Electrify America, fast-charging expansion in the US
Falling under a 10-year electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure and education initiative valued at US$2 billion, Virginia-based EV charging company Electrify America is currently expanding its network through strategic partnerships with several companies in the United States.
Among the companies are: grocery chains Kroger and Save Mart companies; real estate investment trusts Federal Realty Investment, Fulcrum Property, ShopCore Properties, ValueRock Realty Partners, Macerich Company, and Washington Prime Group; and real estate development and investment company Pan-Cal Corporation.
By July, the Volkswagen subsidiary should have 484 charging stations – with more than 2,000 ultra-fast chargers - installed or under development. And by year-end 2021, DC fast charging stations should be located in 29 metropolitan areas along high-traffic corridors in 46 states, including the District of Colombia.
The company’s chargers range in power from 150 kilowatts (kW) to 350kW.
