Valeo makes your trailer invisible

At CES 2019, Valeo is offering a test track to demonstrate its technology that allows the user of a trailer or a caravan to see what’s behind it, effectively making it invisible.

Valeo XtraVue uses video images captured from cameras located at the rear of both the vehicle and the trailer or caravan and combines them into a single homogeneous image, allowing the driver to see everything happing behind the vehicle. The driver can then manoeuvre with ease, regardless of the size of the trailer or caravan.

At Valeo’s demonstration in Las Vegas, the images are shown on a separate screen but a production version will most likely integrate this on the vehicle’s built-in infotainment screen.
