Geotab launches Smart City website

Geotab has launched Geotab//Data, a website that aggregates information on driving hazards, road blockages and parking spaces in cities.

The datasets offered by the website, categorised under urban infrastructure, location analytics and weather, can be used to discover infrastructure challenges (congestion issues, poor road conditions, etc.) and improve the efficiency of urban traffic – both by city planners and commercial fleets.

The data is collated from the 1.2 million vehicles equipped with Geotab telematics devices worldwide and includes information on vehicle location, acceleration and speed, engine diagnostics and seat belt usage. For privacy protection, the information is anonymised. The website is free to use, but access is for registered users only.
