Researchers find little benefit from knee airbags

Airbags are good because they save lives, so more airbags would have to be even better. However, the American IIHS found that isn’t always the case for knee airbags.

According to the IIHS, knee airbags have a negligible effect on injury risk and may even increase it in some cases.

A spokesperson for the IIHS pointed out other options, like changes to lower dashboard designs, can be just as effective or even more effective than knee airbags.
