Nuvve and Power Electronics to provide an intelligent power grid worldwide

Vehicle-to-grid (V2G) technology provider Nuvve Holding Corp. has announced a partnership with solar inverter supplier Power Electronics to integrate the tech of both companies to provide an intelligent V2G network and high-powered solutions.

Nuvve offers high-powered charging and grid services to optimise the use of renewable energy while storing unused energy. Power Electronics provides storage services and manufactures solar inverters, which convert direct current (DC) output gathered from solar panels to active current (AC) output.

Nuvve's GIVe (Grid Integrated Vehicle) cloud-based platform enables bidirectional V2G charging, transforming fleet electric vehicles (EVs) into distributed energy storage power banks. The intelligent charging technology ensures that every EV is charged when needed and provides grid services, including grid-connected load management.

Integration of Nuvve's GIVe and Power Electronics storage technology will allow EVs to store energy, including renewable energy sources and improve fleets' mobility needs.

Better energy management

Turning EVs into power banks is an essential part of smart grids, where vehicles can optimise the energy volume and even prevent blackouts. Nuvve aims to diversify high-powered V2G charging services globally through collaboration, making grids more reliable, flexible and resilient. For Power Electronics, the partnership provides means to accelerate efficiency in solar energy, energy storage and electric mobility.

One critical goal of the integration is to expand renewable energies across the world and support decarbonisation goals. The integration between the companies is expected to be completed by the end of 2022, providing V2G and high-powered solutions first in Europe.
