Amazon unveils first full electric delivery van

About a year after having placed the largest ever order for electric delivery vans, Amazon has unveiled the first Rivian-built van and published some technical details.

Amazon hopes to have 10,000 of these vans on the road by 2022. By 2030, the full order of 100,000 vans should have been delivered.

The van is equipped with advanced features to enhance its safety, navigation and design, including sensor detection, highway and traffic assist, exterior cameras, hands-free access to route navigation and even a “dancefloor” inside the driver’s cabin for easy movement inside the van.

Apart from these electric vans, Amazon also uses e-cargo bikes for deliveries in some urban centres in the EU and in the New York City area.
