FCA drivers can soon order pizza via their car

North American drivers of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) will soon be able to make in-vehicle transactions from their car. From the second half of this year, Uconnect Market will allow them to make restaurant reservations, pay for petrol at selected Shell stations, pay for parking, order vehicle servicing at FCA dealerships and even order pizzas from Domino's – all via their car's in-built touch screen.

The infotainment system will be installed via an over-the-air update for those 2019 and 2020 Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep and Ram models that are equipped with connected services and the latest-generation 8.4-inch touch screens. The system is scalable, so other merchants can join.

Uconnect Market was developed by Seattle-based company Xevo, which has also worked with General Motors for a similar system (Marketplace) available in 2.5 million GM vehicles. Hyundai is also working with Xevo on an in-vehicle transactions platform.
