Global Fleet Virtual Conference: connectivity as key enabler in the New Normal

Connectivity can only become more valuable as we enter the New Normal in the post-COVID-19 world. That’s what the CEOs of Octo, Geotab and Lytx agreed on in a panel debate supported by Octo that was part of the Global Fleet Virtual Conference.

Watch the recording of this conference on top, in which the three speakers tackle these topics:

  • Connectivity and the New Normal
  • Connectivity as a lever for Mobility & EVs
  • The future of connected fleets

In a panel discussion moderated by Global Fleet Chief Editor Steven Schoefs, the following industry leaders emphasised the importance of telematics for global fleet managers:

Neil Cawse (CEO, Geotab)

Inevitably, said Neil Cawse, connectivity will become free of charge.

Mr Cawse is the CEO of Geotab, the largest telematics company in the world founded by him in 2000. In 2019, Geotab was ranked number one in the ABI Research Telematics ranking.

At the start of this year, they had a total of 2 million connected vehicles in their portfolio.

Brandon Nixon (CEO, Lytx)

Brandon Nixon (Lytx) believes connectivity will be more paramount than ever for efficiency and sanitary reasons.

He has served as Lytx CEO for 12 years, championing the company’s commitment to saving lives and leading the Lytx team to unprecedented success. In 2019, Lytx video telematics solutions helped more than 4,000 clients keep over one million drivers and more than 600,000 vehicles safe and their businesses productive, efficient and profitable.

Nicola Veratelli (CEO, Octo)

Nicola Veratelli is convinced that smart mobility cannot become a reality without connectivity.

Mr Veratelli is at the helm of the leading global insurance telematics provider, delivering analytics and connected car solutions to the automotive industry and to large car rental and fleet sectors. Prior to joining Octo, he served as SVP Operations & Supply Chain at Hertz International.
