Arval fleet going full telematic

By 2020, international fleet leasing company Arval intends to have its entire fleet of some 1.1mn vehicles equipped with telematic devices, LatAm managing director Arnault Leglaye told Global Fleet.

The company's current in-house telematics solution is called Arval Active Link. It provides basic local services such as Real-Time Geolocation and Private Mileage Management, as well as advance services such as Driver Behavior Monitoring and others.

"To optimize fleet management and Arval Active Link even further, we are working directly with automakers. Our goal is to enrich the service by taking advantage of data obtained from on-board computers," the executive said.

For Leglaye, the next major strategy he sees helping fleet managers reduce TCO is telematics for Eco-Driving.

Arval, which is present in 29 countries, is a founding member of the Element-Arval Global Alliance, the longest standing strategic alliance in the fleet management industry.
