Geotab joins SBTi to halve CO2 emissions by 2030

Geotab has become the first telematics company to have its emissions reduction targets validated and approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi).

The SBTi’s Business Ambition for 1.5°C campaign calls on companies to align their environmental programmes with the Paris Agreement’s objective of restricting the rise in global temperatures to no more than 1.5°C.

Geotab’s commitment has seen it pledge to halve its Scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas emissions by 2030, compared to its 2019 baseline.

Edward Kulperger, Senior Vice President of Europe at Geotab, said: “We don’t just believe in sustainability; it is the very core to our purpose. We recognise our responsibility to the market to fulfil our due diligence requirements, and we are dedicated to transparently measuring our own carbon emissions, while supporting customers and suppliers on their own journey. SBTi approval validates our continuous efforts to avoid irreversible environmental harm and loss of natural resources.”
