Tim Albertsen new CEO at ALD

Tim Albertsen (pictured) has been appointed the new CEO of global vehicle leasing and business mobility specialist ALD. On 27 March, he will succeed Mike Masterson. The decision was made yesterday at a meeting of ALD’s Board of Directors after Mr Masterson offered his resignation, for health reasons.

Mr Albertsen has over two decades’ experience in the rental, leasing and mobility industry. He started at Avis in Denmark, first as Operations Manager of the rental division (1992-95), then as General Manager of leasing (1995-97). Switching to Hertz Lease, he was General Manager for Denmark and Regional Director for the Nordic and Baltic countries. After the company’s acquisition by ALD in 2003, he quickly moved up the ranks, since 2011 serving as the group’s Deputy CEO. In 2017, he was inducted into Fleet Europe’s International Fleet Hall of Fame.

Leading ALD since 2011, Mr Masterson was instrumental in the company’s rapid growth and expansion. A large part of his enduring legacy will be the company’s successful IPO in 2017 – the very first of a major leasing company in Europe. Today ALD is present in 43 countries worldwide, managing more than 1.75 million vehicles.
