Almy Magalhães reveals all in webinar - join GFMC for more

For one time only, non-members were able to participate in a webinar of the Global Fleet Managers Club (GFMC) this Thursday afternoon. They heard Almy Sousa Magalhães, Global Fleet Manager for Philip Morris International (PMI) reveal the building blocks of his award-winning strategy.

Mr Magalhães kicked off the 45-minute webinar by discussed the characteristics of PMI's global fleet – 23,000 vehicles spread over more than 80 countries.

Integrated approach
Managing a fleet of that size and geographic spread requires a finely balanced, integrated fleet approach, Mr Magalhães went on. His strategy sets great value especially on cost-efficiency, safety and sustainability. He then went into great detail on how these strategic targets were set and met and finished by answering questions from the participants.

A recording of the webinar will be made available to GFMC members. The GFMC is a community exclusively for global and regional fleet customers, for networking and sharing best practices. Sharing expertise and experiences between peers on a 'give and take' basis allows all involved to gain valuable insights on how to improve their performance.

Yearly meetings
The Club's activities – with the exception of this webinar strictly members-only – include several meetings each year, both physical (pictured: at the Fleet Europe Summit 2018 in Barcelona last November) and 'virtual', like the webinar with Mr Magalhães. Here's what's coming up in the next few months:

  • 20 March: Webinar with Franz Fehlner (Allianz), runner-up in the category Global Fleet Manager of the Year at the 2018 Fleet Europe Awards. For Global Fleet Managers Club Members  only.
  • Mid-April: MaaS workshop in Amsterdam in order to define the common requirements for Mobility-as-a-Service. For Global Fleet Managers Club Members only.
  • 15-16 May: Connected Fleets Conference in Brussels. GFMC members have the unique opportunity to take part in the hosted buyer programme and meet with a top selection of supplier representatives free of charge (instead of €750).

Unique forum
“The Global Fleet Managers Club provides fleet managers with global or regional responsibility with a unique forum to exchange views and experiences with their peers”, says Steven Schoefs, Editor in Chief of Fleet Europe, which supports the GFMC.

Anybody wanting to take advantage of the opportunities listed above, and/or review past webinars, is most welcome to apply for membership. Please contact Steven Schoefs directly at sschoefs@nexuscommunication.be.
